Clothing in the middle ages
Clothing in the Middle Ages showed how high in society a person was. Clothing was always influenced by the Kings and Queens at the time. But not everyone could afford to look like royalty because of sumptuary laws; sumptuary laws limited people to what amount of money they could spend on clothes. Throughout history clothing changed and people began to have more of a variety of what could be worn. But there were also rules about what you couldn’t wear like knights couldn’t wear rings. Clothing followed strict rules like it does today.
