Hairstyles
Throughout the Middle Ages women’s hair changed as often as their clothes did. At first their hair was long, flowing and clearly visible. Not long after long plaits came into fashion, at times hair was hidden from people under a wimple. Hairstyles keep changing and coiled buns were presented on either side of the head. Both Monks and Nuns hair was shaven and the remaining hair of the Nun was hidden under her wimple or veil.
